Charlie and his dad have this conversation nearly every day. Eventually he'll give him some answers.

Our good friends Mike and Rebecca gave birth to their daughter Lilia yesterday! Charlie hasn't seen her yet, but he hearts her already!
After he posed for his note to Lilia, he did a little dance for her.
Charlie's first TWO teeth just came in! He's been chewing on his lower lip a lot this week. (Better that than other things that come to mind...)
Don't want a flat head or a wobbly neck? Try some Tummy Time!

Hanging out in Mike and Rebecca's 20th floor condo. Charlie didn't seem to mind the heights at all. Sean on the other hand hung out by the walls.
Charlie is practicing his sitting in the Bumbo. He starts to tilt over after about five minutes, but he just loves watching us cook in the kitchen. He drools and coos. It's very motivating.

What a month!
My show has closed and our visit from Grandma and Grampy Devine came and went. It was unbelievably helpful having them here so that I could rest in between feedings and get over being sick. Their long walks with Charlie, good cooking and diaper changes will be greatly missed.

4-8 weeks
Charlie sure has changed a lot since these earlier clips were shot, but life around here has been pretty busy with rehearsals, so we're a bit behind schedule on getting this posted. He is a very calm and peaceful baby as you will see, and a day doesn't go by where we aren't grateful for it!
WARNING: It is 6 minutes of baby watching so it may get boring to some. But for the grandparents and family far away it's a must see. Enjoy!

Charlie's First Dose of Celebrity

Well, it's Sean here. This is my first time posting something on this blog, and it goes along with the fact that the pants-wearing roles have temporarily shifted in the Devine household. As I write this, Alexa is in an adjoining room rehearsing a play that she'll be performing in the next few weeks, while I'm in a make-shift baby room playing Mr.Mom and distracting myself from doing my away-from-the-office work cause there's exciting news in Charlie World.

As some of you may know, Alexa was recently the subject of a cover story article on midwifery for a Vancouver newspaper The Courier. Go to the following link...
...and check out the cover boy himself getting some hands-on attention from the midwives.
To read the article, click on "Full Story" below the photo.
Also, as you'll see from the photo below, Charlie recently attended a baby-conference on napping and other sofa-related issues. He's the esteemed dignitary on the far right.

In truth, this photo took place at a recent reunion of all the Moms & Dads who attended a local pre-natal workshop.
Take care everyone!

12 lbs 2 oz of pure love
We had our last appointment with our midwives this week (sob...sob...sniff...sigh). We stayed for 1 1/2 hours and just talked. It's gonna be weird not being able to page them in the middle of the night with questions... and we'll sure miss our visits for tea every week to talk about Charlie. Speaking of Charlie, he weighed in at 12 lbs 2oz as he approached 7 weeks. He is eating tons and sleeping well. Couldn't ask for a sweeter boy.
In all his sweetness
Much to our family's chagrin, this one will probably not grow up a Habs fan!
After tummy-time comes quiet-time...
Here is Charlie's first love: Violet, born Dec 14th 2008. She's so beautiful. Way to go Charlie!

Christmas Day
Look what Santa left in our stocking!
"Hey, hey, hey, it's Christmas Day!" (That's what our t-shirts say. Cheesy I know, but it's become our family tradition over the years.)
It appears as though we have direct sunlight in our home, but really it's the reflection off a window in the house across the street. We get really excited for about 5 minutes a day when this happens.
Also, last week (at ONE MONTH) we discovered that he now only fits THREE MONTH sleepers. Our kid is going to be a giant!
